Hebrews 1:7-14, âš“ verses 14 - Ministering Spirits
Angels are real. They are spirit beings. Their job is to serve—specifically to help and serve the people who belong to Jesus, the ones who will receive the full inheritance of salvation.
My name isn't important—that's why this ministry is called The Anonymous Disciple. The goal isn't to point people to me, but to Jesus Christ and His Word.
Whether you've walked with Christ for decades, are new to the Bible, or are simply curious, my prayer is that these resources help you know God more deeply through Scripture.

Faithful Christians are like the moon.
The moon has no light of its own.
It simply reflects the sun.
Nobody walks outside and says,
"What an amazing moon!"
They say,
"Look how bright the night is."

"If I'll never preach to thousands... if I'll never write books... if I'll never become well known... can my life still matter for Christ?"
Yes.
Faithfulness matters.
Humility matters.
Kindness matters.
Opening your Bible every morning matters.
Praying for your family matters.
Pointing people to Scripture matters.
Living differently matters.
And those things often have an eternal impact that isn't visible until heaven.
Psalm 103:13–14 (NIV)
"As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust."
God knows our frame.
He knows when we're afraid.
He knows when our faith is still growing.
And sometimes...
He waits.
Judges 6:18 (NIV)
"Please do not go away until I come back and bring my offering and set it before you."
And the Lord said, "I will wait until you return."
Think about that for a moment.
Gideon had just asked for a sign in verse 17. Then he says, "Please don't leave while I prepare an offering."
And the Lord simply answers:
"I will wait."
What tenderness.
The Creator of the universe...
The One who spoke galaxies into existence...
The One who holds time itself...
...waited for Gideon...and He's waiting for you...and me
For anyone who feels like they've been slow to come back to God, or fears they've taken too long, this verse is full of hope.
It doesn't mean God always waits indefinitely—Scripture also urges us to respond to Him today (for example, Hebrews 3:15: "...Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts..."). But in Gideon's story, it beautifully reveals the Lord's patience toward a servant whose faith was still maturing.

Hebrews 11 is often called the “Hall of Faith” or “Faith’s Hall of Fame.” Though it is much more than a collection of inspiring biographies. It shows us what genuine faith looks like when God’s promise is clear—but its fulfillment is still unseen. The writer is encouraging tired, pressured believers by showing them real people from the Old Testament who trusted God even when they couldn’t see the full picture.

💡 When something in your life feels overwhelming and you have no strength left, God invites you to shift the weight of the battle onto His shoulders. Your job is not to figure it all out or fight harder in your own power. Your job is to seek Him, stand firm in faith, keep your eyes on Him, and worship—even before you see the answer.

Imagine an old house that has been condemned. The wrecking ball has already done its work—the old structure is gone. In its place a brand-new house is being built, but for now the beautiful finished home is still under wraps, hidden from public view. One day the covering will come off and everyone will see the glory. Until then, the owner lives with quiet confidence because he knows what is already true.

Throughout Scripture, God rarely grows His people in isolation. He uses faithful friendships, mentors, encouragers, brothers and sisters in Christ, and discipleship relationships to strengthen faith, refine character, provide accountability, and help His people persevere. The friends we choose often influence the direction of our walk with God.

This is one of the richest conversations in all of Scripture. Jesus isn't just talking about water—He's revealing who He is, exposing the deepest thirst of the human heart, and offering eternal life.
